
The 7th Prix Annelie de Man 2025 Competition and Festival will be held in Orgelpark, Amsterdam, Netherlands from November 19th to 23rd, 2025 and feature “a colourful program full of contemporary music, both from Dutch and international composers, rising stars and established names.”
The event will include several world premieres, Black Pencil as an ensemble in residence, a competition of young contemporary harpsichord pioneers, concerts and results of the Black Pencil composition competition.
The event also honors Annelie de Man, who, in addition to being a brilliant musician, was also a distinguished pedagogue who inspired many harpsichordists and composers to explore contemporary repertoire for the instrument.
Program:
- November 19th, 2025 at 8.15pm: opening concert featuring Goska Isphording, Tony Roe & band, Black Pencil, and Geerten van de Wetering with a light installation by Jurjen Alkema.
- November 20th at 8.15pm: Black Pencil Prize Night. Black Pencil will present works by the three composition finalists: Patrick Jones, Francisco Del Pino and László Sándor. Guests and friends will join in performing works by Tom Armstrong, Klaas de Vries, and former Prix winner Jānis Petraškevičs.
- November 21st: Previous Prize Winners concert. Black Pencil and Ere Lievonen (harpsichord) perform contemporary music by composer Andys Skordis (winner of the Black Pencil Prize 2020).
- November 23rd: Closing Concert: Fusions & Phases and Prize Winners Announcement. The final evening focuses on music that explores togetherness and celebrates the beauty of collectivity. All festival artists come together for works by Roderik de Man, the central figure of the festival and competition.
On this night, all prize winners will be announced. Featuring: Maja Mijatovic, Boi Akih & band, Black Pencil, Peter Jakober, and Roderik de Man.
