NordAccordion returns to Voss from 10–15 August 2026, bringing together international accordion artists, students, and audiences for a week of concerts, workshops, and cultural exchange. Set in the scenic heart of western Norway, the festival combines a summer seminar atmosphere with a full concert programme and informal performance settings, and is organised by accordionist Geir Draugsvoll, Professor of Accordion at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. The programme features performances, workshops, and chamber collaborations, alongside established artists, emerging Nordic talent, and new repertoire including works by contemporary composers.

TOEAC duo

The 2026 edition features leading artists including the TOEAC Duo (Renée Bekkers and Pieternel Berkers) and internationally renowned accordionist Geir Draugsvoll, alongside emerging Nordic talent. The festival also highlights new works by composer-in-residence Martin Lohse, shaping the artistic direction of the week.

Another of the festival highlights will be the premiere of “Ordskifte”, on August 13th, a new work by Henning Sommerro, written for festival director Geir Draugsvoll and Kristina Farstad Bjørdal. The work is inspired by a poem by Norwegian poet Leif Halse, combining text, sound and narrative to create a unique new musical landscape. Composer Henning Sommerro will be present at the concert, making the premiere a special encounter between the composer, performers and audience.

Alongside major concerts, audiences can experience intimate formats such as Opera Pub and Tango Café, as well as a range of educational and participatory events for students and professionals alike. The festival continues to serve as a key meeting point for the Nordic and international accordion community.
