Applications are now open for the 8th nationwide competition for selected orchestras, which will take place in Osnabrück, Lower Saxony, Germany on November 13th and 14th, 2026. The event is organised by the Bundesmusikverband Chor & Orchester e.V. (BMCO – The Federal Music Association for Choirs & Orchestras).

The aim is to promote amateur music, to strengthen the orchestras in their role model functions and to bring new opportunities for further development to the musical landscape.

A jury of experts will evaluate the musical contributions in twelve categories – with compulsory and optional pieces.

In addition to attractive prizes, all participants will receive valuable professional feedback on further development.

Applications close on January 31st, 2026.
