The XXXII Arrasate Hiria International Accordion Competition will take place in Arrasate-Mondragón, Basque Country, Spain from December 5th to 7th, 2025.

The competition is open to performers of all nationalities and countries, and aims to promote, whatever their age, the soloists from all over the world.

The contest is divided into two phases:

  • a first pre-selection phase was carried out by video
  • a second (and final) phase will be the live, in person performance

The jury will select six groups in total, which will have to attend the competition in person, to perform their program in the final phase. These must have a minimum duration of 25 minutes and a maximum of 30 minutes, and at least three works of different styles and/or periods must be performed.

Composer and accordionist, Gorka Hermosa is thrilled that this year, 47 participants in the “Arrasate Accordion Competitions” will be playing his compositions.
