Lecturers Iñaki Alberdi (School of Music of the Basque Country, Spain) and Prof. Marko Ševarlić (University of Music of the Basque Country, Spain) will hold an Accordion Concert Masterclass at the Villa Sawallisch, Grassau, Germany on December 16th, 2025, from 7.30pm.

The masterclass is organised by the Wolfgang Sawallisch Foundation.

“It has always been a passion of Iñaki Alberdi as an accordionist to give the instrument a repertoire that it lacked, as it has only recently entered the world of academic concerts. For this reason, from the beginning of his career, he believed that collaboration with contemporary composers was fundamental to the expansion of this repertoire, which is also the best legacy for future generations of accordionists.”

“Marko Ševarlić is a professor at the University of Music in the Basque Country, “Musikene” in Spain and has also been working as a teacher in Germany for years. In order to further develop the accordion repertoire and establish the accordion in art music, he collaborates with composers such as Torres, Sánchez-Verdú, Fedele, Goebbels, Ginzel, Majkusiak, Genin, Bona, Babajanyan and Onishi. Dozens of world premieres are the result of this collaboration.”
