Manchester-based accordion teacher Tony Marchel commented on social media: “I had a strange but lovely moment this morning. Because I had to shuffle my lessons around I found that I had two French beginner accordion students back to back.

Both are lovely people and as one was leaving and the other arriving they stopped in my living room for a chat….in French.

Even though they were complete strangers I could see the joy in their faces as they talked for 10 minutes in their native tongue. Wonderful!”
