Aotango Quintet Celebrates International Tango Day 2025 – New Zealand

The AOTANGO Quintet will perform at the International Tango Day 2025 celebrations, held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Parnell, Auckland, New Zealand on December 13th, 2025, at 7pm.
This will be an unforgettable evening of tango, world music, dance, and the New Zealand Premiere of the tango mass “Misa a Buenos Aires” (Misatango) with the Auckland Chamber Choir, conducted by Jono Palmer.

The AOTANGO Quintet features some of New Zealand’s top musicians, including violinist Andrew Beer (Concertmaster of the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra), pianist Somi Kim from NZTrio, bassist Gordon Hill (Principal of the Auckland Philharmonia), renowned jazz guitarist Sam Swindells, and world champion accordionist Grayson Masefield.
The Auckland Chamber Choir, based at the University of Auckland, is one of New Zealand’s leading vocal ensembles, known for imaginative programming, and a commitment to presenting new and rarely performed works. Founded by Dr Karen Grylls in 2006, the choir is now under the direction of Dr Jono Palmer, whose leadership brings both vision and dynamism to the ensemble.
