Black Pencil (which includes accordionist Marko Kassl) will tour Indonesia from August 20th to 30th, 2023 with a show entitled “Topeng Masquerade”.

The group will be joined by the six piece Gamelon Ensemble Kyai Fatahillah and include concerts, demonstrations and workshops in Bandung and Yogyakarta.

Both groups began their collaboration in November 2022 in the Netherlands with concerts in Amsterdam, Utrecht and Almere.

Their 2023 program will include new compositions by Roderik de Man (Netherlands), Dyane Donck (Netherlands) and Indonesian composers Iwan Gunawan, Jay Afrisando, Aldy Maulana and Nursalim Yadi Anugerah, supplemented with special arrangements by Wayang Topeng.
