Sell Out Dargaville Museum Opening and Concert

Ten days before the events, all the tickets for the Sunday concert are sold, the Official Opening of the Updated Music Room is full and the Celebration Dinner is also fully sold. Articles in local newspapers this last week completed the ticket sales to the Dargaville area.

The Official Opening of the Updated Music Room & expanded Accordion Gems Display will happen on 30 November 2024, 5-6:30 pm at the Lighthouse Function Centre. This important event for the accordion in New Zealand has attracted international guests. Mirco Patarini (Italy) President Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA), Prof. Li Cong President, China Accordion Assoc., Crystal Wang Executive Secretary China Accordion Assoc, Anthony Shultz President, Victoria Branch of the Accordion Society of Australia plus a number of important accordionists from different parts of New Zealand.

There will be performances by the international guests with NZ accordionists and Gary Daverne ONZM conducting, multi world champion Grayson Masefield and Andrew Beer (violin), renowned soprano Alanah Jones, hometown hero Kevin Friedrich performing, plus various international and NZ speakers. The Official Opening will be followed by a ceremonial ribbon cutting and a piper to lead the 150 invitees with a glass of bubbles in hand, to view the Updated Music Room and extension of the Accordion Gems display.

This very popular concert series, now its19th edition, is already sold out, more than two weeks before the actual date. The concert featuring Kevin Friedrich, Lionel Reekie with their many musical friends from the greater area has long been very popular and this time, the concert includes important international accordion guests attending the Music Room Extension Opening the day before.

As usual, all the funds from this very popular concert series are donated for the Dargaville Museum non profit society to continue their good work.
