The deadline for entries in the 28th National Trophy and the 9th International Accordion Competitions is April 19th, 2025.

The competitions will be held in the Small and Large Auditoriums of the Cine-Teatro de Alcobaça Auditorium of the Municipal Library, on May 17th and 18th, 2025 in conjunction with the 28th International Alcobaça 2025 Accordion Week in Alcobaça, Portugal from May 10th to 18th, 2025. The event is organised by the Associação de Acordeão de Portugal (Accordion Association of Portugal). President of the Portugal Accordion Association is Aníbal Freire.

The competition is for Portuguese/ Foreign residents in Portugal (National Trophy), and all nationalities (International Contest).

Age categories are available for:
a) Soloists
b) Chamber Music
c) Accordion Duets, Trios, Quartets, etc..
d) Orchestras

In addition to the competitions, the Accordion Week will feature four masterclasses and a conference on May 15th and 16th:

• Angelo Pignatelli (Italy)
• Raimondas Sviackevicius (Lithuania)
• Diana Freire (Portugal) – “Mindfulness and NLP for Musicians – Reprogramming Our Brain”
• Roberto Lucanero (Italy) – Conference – “The Accordion in the First Half of the 20th Century (Vacher and Kramer)”

Nine concerts as follows:

• May 10th: Opening Concert – Cine-Teatro de Alcobaça
• May 14th, 15th, and 16th: Concerts at the Alcobaça Monastery
• May 17th: Popular/Light Concert – Cine-Teatro de Alcobaça * May 18th: Closing Concert and Award Ceremony – Cine-Teatro de Alcobaça
