
“Jazz Tupiniquim”, a Perth-based group performing Brazilian instrumental music, will perform at The Jazzlab in Brunswick, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on October 17th, 2024.
Their music is “influenced by several genres such as Choro, Samba, Bossa-Nova, as well as artists such as Hermeto Pascoal, Pixinguinha, Tom Jobim, and others. The group seeks to present the true essence of Brazilian music, mixing traditional rhythms with sophisticated melodies, and fusing with elements of jazz and improvisation.”
Band members include Danilo da Paz (accordion), Emily Gelineau (violin, piano & vocals), Paul Carey (guitar), Josh Bridges (bass) and Alaister Kerr (drums).
