Charismatic accordionist Johanna Juhola takes the essence of Buenos Aires tango halls, blends it with dark Finnish landscapes, and rolls it all up in contrasting worlds of sound – by turns melancholy, exuberant, eclectic and just plain cheeky.
Harnessing subtle and inventive electronic elements and backed by the innovative musical wizardry of her Reaktori quartet, Johanna is a well-known face on Finland’s music scene. Her opener track, commissioned for the 2007 Eurovision song contest was watched by tens of millions around the world.
