Accordion artist and composer Kalle Välimaa (from Hyvinkää) held a chamber music workshop from April 16th to 19th, at the Kuhmo Music Institute for accordion students of Jukka-Pekka Kuusela and guitar students of Mari Mäntylä.

During the intensive course, Välimaa taught a challenging program that included his own works and French music.

At the closing concert of the course in the Pajakka Hall of Kuhmo Hall, Välimaa’s Viikonpäivät (first performance), Largo, Fauré’s Pavane op. 50 and Välimaa’s Kaksi hyräelmää (first performance) were wonderfully performed.

The course participants had a memorable pedagogical experience of performing contemporary music and French music.
