Highlights from the Milan Korg Fisa Suprema demonstration by Mr. Fehmiju Fati.

Fehmiju Fati is an accomplished accordionist, composer, and the driving force behind the development of the Korg Fisa Suprema. After completing studies in violin and composition in Istanbul, he earned a Doctorate in Electronic Music Composition from the Kunitachi College of Music in Japan. Since joining KORG’s Audio Research and Development Division in 2019, he has played a leading role in designing and advancing the Fisa Suprema series. His work blends state-of-the-art digital sound technology with the expressive nuances of acoustic performance, resulting in an instrument that seamlessly combines innovation and musical artistry.

The event also featured a captivating presentation by Maestro Pietro Adragna, who skillfully balanced outstanding musical performances with detailed technical explanations of the Fisa Suprema. During the demonstration, he explored the sophisticated physical modeling technology that recreates the sonic character of 45 traditional acoustic accordions. He explained how the instrument’s highly responsive bellows system allows performers to apply the same playing techniques used on conventional accordions. Attendees were also introduced to the instrument’s extensive sound library, including orchestral voices, organ sounds, wind instruments, and remarkably realistic solo timbres. The presentation clearly demonstrated that the Fisa Suprema is a versatile and powerful instrument, designed to meet the demands of modern musicians while preserving the soul and expressiveness of the accordion tradition.
