The Bavarian State Youth Accordion Orchestra (Landesjugend-Akkordeonorchester Bayern – LJAO) will begin their concert tour of the UK, Belgium and Germany on August 31st through to September 10th, 2023.

This Orchestra is one of the German selection accordion orchestras of the “Deutsche Harmonika-Verband” (DHV) that offers young people from Bavaria the opportunity to deal with new accordion literature and sophisticated arrangements. The conductor changes every year, so that the young musicians can gain experience with different musical interpretations. The 2023 Musical Director and Conductor is Stefan Hippe.

The tour will begin in London, England with a community concert entitled “Bellows Across Borders” with the London Accordion Orchestra on September 3rd, 2023 at St Gabriel’s Church in Pimlico.

• September 6th: Mons (Belgium) – Auditorium Halbreich – Conservatoire Royal du Mons
• September 8th: Oelde (Germany) – St. Joseph’s Church
• September 9th: Cologne (Germany) – Trinity Church

Their programme includes music by Piazzolla, Márquez, Elgar, Händel and Tchaikovsky, as well as original works for accordion orchestra.
