Accordionist Markku Lepistö’s “Duos” album (Rapusaari Records) reached number two on World Music Charts Europe (WMCE).

“WMCE is the European Broadcasting Union’s list, for which radio journalists and DJs specialising in world music from 24 different countries vote for records. In other words, it does not measure sales, but artistic quality. At the moment, the only Finn out of 45 members is Tuuli Saksala, a journalist for the Finnish Broadcasting Company.”

“For the Duos album, Lepistö composed two songs for each collaborator. They include accordionists Riccardo Tesi (Italy), Leija Lautamaja (Finland), Xabi Aburruzaga (Basque Country) and Eva Parmenter (Portugal).”
