North Shore Accordion Orchestra Joint Concert with the Auckland Mandolinata Orchestra – New Zealand

The North Shore Accordion Orchestra conducted by Lian Jones will perform a joint concert with the Auckland Mandolinata Orchestra conducted by Bryan Holden. The concert will be held at the Takapuna War Memorial Hall in The Strand, Takapuna, Auckland, New Zealand on March 23rd, 2025 from 5pm to 6.15pm.
Their program will feature music from Abba to Tchaikovsky to movie themes plus a tour through the nations of the world!
Bryan Holden has been the Mandolinata musical director and conductor of the orchestra since 1999. The group aims to keep alive the wonderful heritage of a plucked-string ensemble. Their instruments include mandolins, mandolas, mandocello, luito, mandolon, acoustic guitars, contra-bass, electric bass, flute, and accordions which beautifully expresses their repertoire of music of which includes classical and contemporary, baroque, swing, and folk.
The North Shore Accordion Orchestra (NSAO) was formed in 1976 and has toured overseas extensively. They were among the major supporters of the 1980 Coupe Mondiale World Accordion Championships, held in New Zealand, and were the featured orchestra at the opening concert attended by the New Zealand Prime Minister, Mr Muldoon.
The North Shore Accordion Orchestra are five time winners at the coveted New Zealand Accordion Orchestra Championships in 1977, 1978, 1980, 1983, and 1984.
