The Accordionists & Teachers Guild, International (ATG) will begin their Monday Eductional Mini-Series online this month.

This mini-series is open to all ATG members and will offer the chance to learn under some of the highest quality teachers in the accordion world.

Professor Joan Cochran Sommers will kick the series off on January 26th, 2026, by teaching three sessions on basic and complex rhythms.

Dates are:

January 26th: simple time signatures and basic counting
February 2nd: compound meters and sub-dividing
February 9th: practical application of the first two weeks material to include “2 against 3” and similar polyrhythmic challenges

Each session will be one hour total including about 40-45 minutes of presentation followed by a brief Q&A session.
