The Orkney Folk Festival will be held in Orkney, Scotland from May 23rd to 26th, 2024. The festival won the 2023 “Event of the Year” at the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards last year.

Performers include “The Chair” (picture above left), which includes accordionist Bob Gibbon, who will celebrate their 20th birthday at the festival this year. The group play “a turbocharged mash-up of folk, blues, rock, dub, klezmer and more.”

Other performers include Karen Tweed, Genticorum (picture above right – accordionist Nicholas Williams), The Glencraig Scottish Dance Band (picture below- Nicol McLaren on accordion), Mairtín O’Connor, Orkney Accordion and Fiddle Club, Orkney Strathspey and Reel Society, Orkney Traditional Music Project (traditional accordion and fiddle playing group) and Rum Ragged.
