The 49th PIF – Premio Internationale Fisarmonica Castelfidardo will be held from September 11th to 15th, 2024 in Castelfidardo, Italy. Artistic Director: Antonio Spaccarotella.

The Classical Accordion “Award” category is the most prestigious and coveted category in the competition. A magnificent symphony orchestra awaits the three finalists who will perform the world premiere of the commissioned piece by Veli Kujala (Finland).

Concerts will be held as follows:

September 11th: Richard Bona concert in Remembrance Park with special guests Luciano Biondini (accordion), Ciro Manna (guitar) and Antonio Muto (drums).

September 12th: Jinx – C. Farmakis. Director: Alfredo Luigi Cornacchia. Soloist: Toeac Accordion Duo. The Double Concerto was commissioned in 2011 by the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen for the annual Commemorative Concert in 2012, with the duo Toeac performing the solo accordion parts.

This will be followed by Syntropy – A.L.Cornacchia. Director: Alfredo Luigi Cornacchia. Soloist: Xu Xiaonan (China), winner of the 37th edition of PIF, will return to Castelfidardo to perform with the prestigious Calabria Philharmonic Orchestra. Held in the Astra Theater, Castelfidardo.

September 14th: Maria de Buenos Aires tango opera by Astor Piazzolla and Horacio Ferrer, under the stars in Remembrance Park. “Cecilia Suarez Paz plays Maria with burning passion, while Juanjo Mosalini (bandoneon) and Clarissa Bevilacqua (violin), weave the deep melodies that characterize the pulsating heart of tango. The Calabria Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Filippo Arlia, further embellishes the performance.”
