Nestled among the gentle hills of Italy’s Marche region lies Castelfidardo, a town whose name has become inseparable from one of the world’s most expressive and beloved musical instruments: the accordion. For more than a century, the sound of the accordion has shaped the character and identity of this remarkable place. Here, generations of skilled craftsmen transformed passion into artistry, refining techniques passed down through the years while embracing innovation and new italian craftsmanship far beyond national borders and into concert halls, homes, and cultural traditions around the world.
Among the distinguished names born from this rich heritage, Pigini occupies a place of important significance.
Founded on the 6th of June 1946 by Filippo Pigini, during the years of reconstruction that followed the Second World War, Pigini became part of a renewed chapter in Italian musical craftsmanship. Guided by dedication, precision, and an unwavering commitment to quality, the company steadily earned the trust and admiration of musicians at every level. Its instruments accompanied students taking their first musical steps, talented performers pursuing their artistic ambitions, and internationally acclaimed concert artists captivating audiences across the globe.

Over the decades, Pigini accordions travelled far beyond Italy, carrying with them not only exceptional craftsmanship but also the spirit and traditions of Castelfidardo itself. Through continuous research, technological innovation, and close collaboration with musicians worldwide, the company contributed significantly to the evolution of the accordion, helping to strengthen its presence on the international concert stage while remaining deeply rooted in the values that shaped its origins.
Today, eighty years after its foundation, that legacy continues to flourish.

This anniversary brought together musicians, friends, suppliers and contributors from many countries, all united by a shared appreciation for an instrument capable of expressing both remarkable virtuosity and profound emotion. Surrounded by music, photographs, memories, and stories spanning generations, guests gathered not simply to celebrate this family and company, but to honour a vibrant community connected by a common passion: the accordion.

The occasion offered a moment to reflect on the vision of those who laid the foundations in 1946, on the generations of craftsmen whose skilled hands shaped each instrument with patience and care, and on the musicians whose talent, creativity, and dedication gave those instruments their voice.
From the workshops of Castelfidardo to prestigious concert halls throughout the world, the history of Pigini forms part of a much larger narrative — one that speaks of tradition, artistry, innovation, and the enduring power of music to bring people together across cultures and generations.
The celebration itself reflected this spirit perfectly: a weekend filled with friendship, familiar melodies, musical performances, and treasured memories shared among people who have contributed to and witnessed eight remarkable decades of achievement. These are the moments that give true meaning to a company’s history and lasting value to a family and legacy that began in Castelfidardo and continues to resonate around the world.
