The Regulations and entry information for the 2026 PIF Castelfidardo is now available in Italian & English languages. The regulations can also be downloaded in French, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian & German. This year’s test piece for the final round of the PREMIO category is “Signature” composed by Michele Mangani.

Michele Mangani is an Italian composer, conductor, and clarinettist, born in Urbino in 1966. He studied clarinet, composition, band instrumentation, orchestral and choral conducting at the conservatories of Pesaro and Bologna. Alongside his performing career, he has conducted numerous wind ensembles and orchestras and collaborated with leading international musicians and educators.

Mangani is widely recognised for his extensive catalogue of works and arrangements for wind band and chamber ensembles, and his compositions have received numerous national and international awards. He has worked across both concert music and theatrical productions, including collaborations with Nobel laureate Dario Fo, and his music is regularly performed worldwide.

The PIF Castelfidardo Competitions and Festival is organised by the City Council of Castelfidardo led by Mayor Roberto Ascani, the Castelfidardo Pro Loco Tourist Association headed by Ruben Cittadini and 2026 PIF Artistic Director Cesare Chiacchiaretta.

2026 PIF Artistic Director: Cesare Chiacchiaretta is an acclaimed accordionist, composer and bandoneonist celebrated for his artistry in tango and contemporary music. He performs worldwide as a soloist and chamber musician, captivating audiences across Europe, the Americas, and beyond with his expressive interpretations and is well known for his compositions.

He is currently an accordion teacher at the Conservatory “T. Schipa” in Lecce, Apulia, Italy and was the commissioned composer for the 2025 PIF Castelfidardo.
