Renzo Ruggieri has released “One Night in Strasbourg“, a bossa nova he composed with the late Frédéric Schlick, a French jazz accordionist with whom Renzo Ruggieri has collaborated on several productions.
The solo version faithfully reproduces the arrangement found on the EP “Leaves” (Renzo Ruggieri Orchestra, VAP123, 2023), from which the accordion solo I recorded in the studio was also transcribed. The piece stands out for its complex performance, due to the presence of multiple voices in the right hand and the complex, Latin-inspired rhythm.
