The Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) held their online 144th General Assembly of Delegates Congress for 44 members, many being national accordion organisations on 28th November.

The Congress led by President Mirco Patarini and Secretary General Kimmo Mattila has never been held online before and about 40 members attended.

Plans for 2021 were presented:

– Winter Congress being held in Basel, Switzerland 12 -14 March by Ruedi Marty, President, of host accordeon.ch

– “The Magic of the Accordion” video promotion competition – see article below.

– World Accordion Day in May, officially 6th May, online event including a virtual World Accordion Orchestra and concerts in some countries depending upon covid regulations.

– 2021 Coupe Mondiale in Munich, 13-17 October 2021. The host organiser Deutscher Harmonika-Verband e. V., (DHV), delegate Georg Hettmann with hall information, hotel and travel details at: 2021CM-Presentation.pdf

The 2021 Coupe Mondiale rules, travel and accommodation details are going to be published before Christmas.
