The Deutscher Harmonika-Verband e.V. (DHV) have announced the winners of the 2021 Akkordeon Musik Preis video competition, a youth competition of the DHV for instrumentalists up to the age of 27 with their first place of residence in Germany.

The event was a complete success, with almost 200 video contributions submitted and evaluated from 5th to 6th June by jury members.

Due to the corona pandemic, solo contributions were mainly submitted with a few, but still first-class contributions in the duo and ensemble genres.

The 17 adjudicators from all over Germany had no easy task, because of the high to excellent quality of competitors, both in terms of playing technology and interpretation.

In Category 5 and Professional categories the best-rated results were achieved with an outstanding 48.0 out of a possible 50 points by Isabell Schirmer and Kim Winter in the “Accordion/Chamber Music (Amateurs)” class and Lukas Proske in the “Accordion/Solo Popularmusik (Professionals)” class.

Ronja Ramisch won the “Accordion/Solo (Amateurs)” title with 47.8 points, closely followed by Antonio Del Castillo, who was awarded the “Friedrich Lips Cup” with a razor-thin three-tenths gap and thus gets the chance for a solo concert at the festival of the same name in Chelyabinsk (Russia).

With the “Honorary Prize of the Prime Minister of the State of Baden-Württemberg”, one of the special prizes went to Florian Wagner for his outstanding performance in the “Accordion/Solo Popularmusik (Amateure)” category.

The “Wolfgang Jacobi Special Prize” is regularly awarded to the best interpretation of a work by the composer. At this year’s Accordion Music Prize, the award was divided among four participants:

Anna-Katharina Schau
Katharina Jaeger
Nicole Alber
Dana Marlen Röhling
