This is the second joint creative work of Teatro Del Paso and Trio Unique. “Tango and emigrants are inseparable from each other. Emigrants from Europe had a great importance for the emergence and development of this genre. Spanish Habanera and Flamenco, German bandoneon has now become one of the symbols of tango, Italian longing melodies and songs.”

“The passionate tango dance emerged as a refuge for lonely emigrants who missed home and love. Most of the first tango dancers were immigrants looking for a sense of belonging and the opportunity for social interaction. Dance became a way to express passions, longing and connection, which was missing in their everyday lives. Dance also helped them communicate with each other, despite language barriers.”

This performance is about the experiences of emigrants in a foreign land and the influence of those experiences on the development of this wonderful genre.
