The VI International Vaclovas Furmanavičius Young Accordionists Competition will take place on October 24th, 2026 in Vilnius, Lithuania, celebrating the talent and dedication of the next generation of accordion musicians.

The event will be held at the Jono Girijotas Concert Hall and honours Vaclovas Furmanavičius (1929–1992), a respected Lithuanian accordion educator and conductor who made a significant contribution to accordion education and performance.

The competition provides an opportunity for young musicians to demonstrate their technical ability, musical interpretation and artistic expression before an international audience and jury. It also encourages cultural exchange and helps strengthen connections between accordion students, teachers and performers from different countries.

Organised with the involvement of Vilnius Naujoji Vilnia Music School, the Lithuanian Accordion Association and Vilnius Accordion Society, the event continues the tradition of promoting accordion music and supporting emerging talent.

The competition promises to be an important occasion for young accordionists and the wider accordion community.
