To celebrate World Accordion Day and the arrival of China accordion year, the Sichuan
Musicians Association and Sichuan Accordion Association on May 1, 2011, celebrated these events and also made a promotion for the 2011 Coupe Mondiale being hosted by the China Accordion Association in Shanghai.

As well, the Sichuan event was promoting the Fourth Sichuan Accordion Competition and Art Festival,at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music.

The main organizer is Prof. Chen Jun, Accordion Department head at Sichuan Conservatory of Music and Chinese Accordion Association Vice President.

A total of 500 accordion players and fans attended the Sichuan World Accordion Day celebration including some, who will be competitors in the 2011 Coupe Mondiale, Castelfidardo International Accordion Competition winners, with the youngest player participating, being only only 4 years old, with the oldest being a 76 year old player.
