The Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) announces the 11th Anniversary edition of the magnificent World Accordion Orchestra which will be held as part of the 72nd Coupe Mondiale Festival in Shenzhen, China from 12-18 August, 2019. Conductors are Joan C. Sommers (USA) and Chen Weiliang (China).

The World Accordion Orchestra XI will perform three pieces
– Triumphal March from Aida by G. Verdi
– Carefree! The Yi People, Trad. Chinese Folk Songs
– Long live the Motherland! by Liu Chi and Qin Yongcheng
with orchestra members comprising accordionists from around the globe, including many of the CIA Delegates, Jury and Contestants as well as our from our host nation of China.

The World Accordion Orchestra XI performance will be held on Sunday, August 18th, 2019.

This is a unique opportunity for accordionists to apply to play in a large international orchestra at the 2019 Coupe Mondiale and enjoy the experience of playing under the under the baton of renowned conductors Joan C. Sommers and Chen Weiliang.
