2025 Daily Reports and videos: Home, 23 July, 24 July, 25 July, 26 July

During the day, there were many competition categories taking place with most judges busy until later afternoon. We registered in the morning and received a very nice registration bag and pack (see picture gallery just below) with the high quality 88 page full color brochure of information.

For the jury and those going to hear competitors perform, the competition building of 5 floors had a lot of event banners in the lobby. You can see the excellent artwork of the banners.

Opening Ceremony and Concert

The Opening Concert was in the beautiful Harbin Grand Theatre with excellent lighting and sound. It was attended many of local and regional politicians and dignitaries and filmed and recorded by reporters and Chinese media. All the speeches in Chinese were translated in English to TV screens (see pictures above) for guests to view and English speeches translated to Chinese for the audience.

The moment of opening was quite exciting with Government and Harbin University officials with the Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) President being invited to the stage to stand behind the specially made cabinet and when announced, to push the “Festival Open” large buttons on the cabinet, that started the bright lights of the cabinet. Very eye catching! The audience enthusiastically applauded with the officials.
