From May 14 to 17, 2026, one of Berlin’s most prestigious hotels (Estrel Berlin), boasting magnificent event spaces, will become the center of the nationwide accordion scene. Together with the Berlin State Music Council (Landesmusikrat Berlin e.V.), two significant events will unite for the first time in this Year of the Accordion: the German National Youth Accordion Festival of the German Harmonica Association (DHV) and the established Berlin Accordion Festival of the DHV Berlin, which will take place for the ninth time in 2026.

Friday May 15:
10:00 – 18:00 hrs Concert slots for participating orchestras/ensembles (45 mins each)
10:00 – 18:00 hrs Workshops with Matthias Matzke (accordion – 90 mins each)
20:00 hrs Festival Highlight Concert: Hohner Conservatory Trossingen and Marcos-Coll Trio
Saturday May 16:
10:00 – 18:00 hrs Concert slots for participating orchestras/ensembles (45 mins each)
10:00 – 18:00 hrs Workshops with Axel Meier (drums, percussion – 90 mins each)
20:00 hrs Festival Highlight Concert: ArtAccA – Project-Orchestra and Accordion ROCKester Berlin
Sunday May 17:
Departure (possibility of sightseeing Berlin for participants)
A particular highlight are the two evening concerts: On May 15, students from the renowned HOHNER Conservatory and the Marcos Coll Trio will present a varied program, followed on May 16 by a joint concert from the ArtAccA project orchestra and the Berlin State Accordion ROCKesters (LARB). The festival is accompanied by a wide range of workshops, offering both inspiration and practical experience. Exhibition areas will also provide a space for encounters, exchange, and discoveries related to the instrument.
With the combination of an established festival and a new nationwide youth platform, 2026 will see the creation of a vibrant meeting place for the entire accordion world – a place where musical energy, artistic quality, and community come together in a unique way.
Performance and Warm-up Times. Each ensemble is allotted 60 minutes of stage time, which includes a maximum of 45 minutes of playing time, including MCing and applause. Setup and teardown time will be shared with the preceding and following ensembles and includes the soundcheck. These times are binding.
2nd Accordion Festival Berlin 2026 & Federal Youth Accordion Festival. This year, the entire festival is organized by the Berlin State Music Council (Landesmusikrat Berlin e.V.) with the kind support of the LOTTO Foundation Berlin.
