South African accordionist, Christiaan Ras attempted the World Guinness Book of Records Accordion Marathon record on December 26th, 2025. He played for 72 hours and 40 minutes.

To reach the world record he needed to play at least 81 hours continuously. The current record holder is Christelle De Franceschi (France) who played for 80 hrs 53 min 28 sec.

However, he is now the South African record holder and plans to attempt the world record again in December this year.
