The 2024 XinJiang Tacheng International Accordion Culture and Art Festival is a three day festival which attracts enormous audiences for its main outdoor public concerts.

The event is superbly organised in the city of Tacheng which is renowned as a city that loves accordion and has accordion statutes and promotions throughout the city including the largest accordion museum in China. Part of this festival includes an international Accordion Museum forum and Belt and Road exchange activity, the Silk Road Sentiment Building, a Culinary Competition and Tasting Conference, and township Folk Activities.

From the city map having accordion on the cover, to the popular Tacheng water bottles featuring accordion, ornate medallions, silk accordion cloth, stylish bags plus amazing statutes and signs around the city, create a atmosphere that Tacheng is truly a city of accordion.

 In 2023, Tacheng was awarded the title of “Accordion City of China” by the accordion society of Chinese Musicians’ Association. In recent years, Tacheng has actively promoted its accordion culture by holding various activities, attracting many citizens and tourists to participate.

Tacheng has actively promoted its accordion culture by holding various activities, attracting many citizens and tourists to participate. The accordion museum in Tacheng prefecture is a major building and organisation that is world leading. Accordions are part of the culture of Tacheng which has has been greatly influenced by Russian and other cultures, including in its international styles of music. Out of any 100 people in Tacheng, there are two or three who can play the accordion.

Speciality Food Tasting Exhibition at the Tacheng Cultural Square. We were invited to this amazing food tasting and exhibition of food displays by a number of Tacheng celebrity chefs.

Meeting at the Museum to finalise plans for the next two days of the World Accordion Museum Alliance (WAMA) Summit that was being held at the Tacheng Accordion Museum.

After the Tacheng Museum meeting we had a most interesting afternoon attending the camel barbecue which was a fun event and part of the festivities of the 2024 Tacheng Accordion Festival.

In the evening was the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Xinjiang Tacheng 4th International Accordion Culture and Arts Festival with a “Silk Road” Accordion Music Gala. A huge audience attended. Program below:
