Located in the heart of France, in the beautiful and unspoiled landscape of the Auvergne Volcano Park, CNIMA Jacques Mornet continues to welcome accordionists from around the world for a new season of intensive musical training, artistic exchange, and international excellence.
Founded by world-renowned professor Jacques Mornet and award-winning accordionist Nathalie Boucheix, CNIMA recently celebrated its 30th anniversary with prestigious concerts featuring former students including Félicien Brut — who performed during the Paris Olympic Games celebrations — Vincent Lhermet, professor at the CNSM de Paris, and up-and-coming jazz manouche artist Jibé Baudin.
Over the past three decades, CNIMA has become one of the world’s leading accordion schools, earning 122 first prizes at major international competitions in both classical and variety categories.

The success of the school lies in Jacques Mornet’s unique pedagogical approach, which treats the accordion as a wind instrument and emphasizes air control, touch, body movement, and above all, musicality as the foundation of technique.
CNIMA is unique for its immersive residential format, offering full-board study programs in an inspiring mountain setting that allows students to fully focus on music while creating strong artistic and human connections. The school welcomes students of all ages and levels — from passionate amateurs to future virtuosos — and offers full-year intensive programs, workshops, masterclasses, online courses, and preparation for conservatory exams and international competitions.

Students regularly come from across France and around the world, including Japan, Korea, Canada, and Egypt, making CNIMA a truly international musical community.
More than a school, CNIMA is a humanistic and artistic community dedicated to transmitting a living musical tradition while encouraging creativity, expression, and excellence.
