A new album by Luca Colantonio “In Nomine Terrae” has just been released on the Movimento Classical label.
The album features Luca Colantonio (accordion), the Zagreb Symphony Orchestra (Croatia) conducted by Miran Vaupotić and music by Cesare Chiacchiaretta.

Tracks include “In Nomine Terrae”, “Concerto per Fadiesis” commissioned by the Fadiesis Association of Pordenone, a composition in neotonal style with Brahmsian echoes along with a popular lure as can be seen from the third movement and “Sunflower Seeds” which recalls a Ukrainian woman who
inveighs against a Russian soldier for the invasion she is suffering. At the end of the animated discussion, she tells him: “Get these sunflower seeds and hold them in your pocket, when you will be dead and lie down, sunflower flowers will grow” The sunflower is also a Ukraine symbol and flower seeds are a metaphor of Ukraine renaissance.
Strumenti & Musica.com review:
The idea of In Nomine Terrae is clear from the very beginning: to celebrate our beloved Earth, a planet put to the test by man’s wicked choices. And what better way to tell it than with music? The composition, entirely written by Cesare Chiacchiaretta, unfolds in three movements, each with a well-defined personality.
De Homine et Natura: the delicate balance between man and nature is manifested through tonal melodies that are disturbed by sudden dissonances, as if to remind us that nature never remains silent;
Tearful: here it is the Earth that weeps, and with it the victims of disasters and wars. The music becomes poignant, evocative, almost palpable;
De Omnium Concordia: the final wish is a world in balance, in which the different entities and races coexist in harmony. An ending that leaves hope, but also a warning.
