The Australian Accordion Teachers Association (AATA) annual championships and festival are set to run on the weekend of 6th and 7th June 2026. Contestants are already confirmed from several Australian States, and entries are still open for the Australian International Championship categories, giving accordionists from all over the world an opportunity to compete in one of the world’s most iconic cities.
Held at the Five Dock RSL in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, the event will culminate in a Gala Prizewinners concert, on the Sunday afternoon. This year the AATA is thrilled to welcome renowned Sydney-based accordionist Paolo Brancondi (@ACCORD-ing To Paolo) as their featured Guest Artist. Paolo has a wealth of international experience, and his performance promises to be a highlight of the festival.
The AATA is a premiere voting member of the Confederation Internationale des Accordionistes (IMC- UNESCO) and many of its international category winners have gone on to achieve excellent results in Coupe Mondiale Competitions.
International competitors who require a letter of invitation in order to apply for an Australian visa can request this from the AATA association.
