The “Rosy Clouds Chasing the Moon” Exclusive Concert of Accordion Works which is part of the Shanghai Spring International Music Festival at Shanghai Normal University Music College. The concert was successfully held on March 23rd.

At this concert, the students of the Accordion Orchestra of Shanghai Normal University, through different forms of performance, presented wonderful programs such as accordion solos, chamber music, accompaniment, ensemble performances, as well as collaborative performances combining the accordion with percussion instruments and double keyboards.

Picture descriptions: 01a. The students not only performed on the stage, but were also asked them to be able to talk about the characteristics of the pieces they played by themselves. 03a. Four students majoring in accordion led four students minoring in accordion to perform together. The handsome student who played the piano accompaniment also minored in accordion. The piece “Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon” composed by Ren Guang, arranged by Tan Jialiang integrates Chinese national characteristics with modern jazz and tango rhythms, and it sounds really pleasant to the ear and pleasing to the eye.

06a. The piece “Concert Samba” composed by B. Myronchuk was arranged into a performance where the accordion and the double keyboard electronic organ are played together, and it sounds really great. Feng Jingrui and Liu Xingyu performed.

10b. Minhang District Youth Activity Center students Keyboard orchestra combined with the Student Folk Orchestra of Minhang District Youth Activity Center to perform the ever popular “Under Paris Skies”.
11a. The Accordion Orchestra of Shanghai Normal University performed the ensemble piece “Good Days”. I also invited the children who are amateur accordion learners in Shanghai to participate in our rehearsals and performances. They were extremely delighted.

Speech by Prof. Crystal Wang thanking all those who made the concert possible, the music school and its students and thanking the audience. The emotional speech touched the heart of the audience. Finally, she told everyone that the accordion cause requires us to keep passing it on and innovating continuously. “I look forward to an even brighter future for the accordion.”
