The 8th Shanghai International Accordion Culture & Art Week (2026 “Shanghai Spring”) runs from March 30 to April 6, 2026, in Changning District, featuring international artists from six countries alongside Yangtze River Delta performers. Highlights include a gala concert at Hongqiao Art Center, pop-up performances at Hongqiao Airport, and performances at Shanghai Zoo.

This year’s “Symphony of Spring” China – Foreign Music Exchange Performance Season served as the opening program of the 41st Shanghai Spring International Music Festival. The evening brought together renowned performers featured across the festival’s many concerts. Pictured below is the cover of the 174‑page full‑color booklet detailing the festival’s 26 exhibitions and performances.

The event was sponsored and organized by Spotlight Matrix Media Group, an international bilingual media organization with more than 14 years of experience. Additional information about Spotlight can be accessed via the green image to the right.

Among the invited performers were 2025 Coupe Mondiale Champion Konstantin Riabin and multi‑international‑competition winner Grayson Masefield. Both artists appeared on stage and participated in the evening’s live online broadcast. I was very pleased the accordionists received a very enthusiastic applause. A photograph of the duo, along with their program notes from the event booklet, is shown below.

Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) President Mirco Patarini delivered a keynote address, which was also included in the live broadcast.

Speech by Mirco Patarini, President of the Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes, at the Press Conference of the “Sino-Foreign Music Exchange Performance Season” of the 41st “Shanghai Spring” International Music Festival.

Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, Good afternoon!
It is a great honor to be invited to attend the press conference of the “Sino-Foreign Music Exchange Performance Season” of the 41st “Shanghai Spring” International Music Festival. On behalf of the Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes, I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to the organizing committee of the “Shanghai Spring” International Music Festival and to the Shanghai Musicians Association, which has long been committed to promoting cultural and musical exchanges between China and the world.

As a member of the International Music Council, the Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes has
always been dedicated to fostering the integration and mutual learning of the world’s diverse art forms. Since the inaugural “Shanghai Spring” International Accordion Culture and Arts Week was held in 2019, this year marks the successful arrival of its eighth edition.

The Culture and Arts Week has consistently used the accordion as a bridge, bringing top-tier artistic talents, including world champions, to perform in Shanghai. It has provided the public with high-level artistic experiences, promoted the innovative development of accordion art, deeply integrated into the city’s cultural tourism, and contributed to the building of the city’s cultural brand.

The Culture and Arts Week has become a signature feature of “Shanghai Spring,” and has forged a deep
bond of friendship and cooperation between the CIA and the Shanghai Musicians Association. This year, both parties will renew the Memorandum of Cooperation for another three years, continuing to deepen exchanges and cooperation in the field of accordion art. The “Shanghai Spring” International Music Festival is a cultural symbol of Shanghai. With its professional planning and open vision, it has built a high-quality international exchange platform. Our cooperation, cemented by this Memorandum of Cooperation, not only contributes to the flourishing development of accordion art but also powerfully promotes the deep integration of Chinese and international cultures.

Hereby, I sincerely appeal to the representatives of foreign consulates in Shanghai, friends from the media, and colleagues from all walks of life to continue to follow and participate in the wonderful events of this music festival. Let us join hands to promote cultural exchanges in music and other art forms between China and the world!

Finally, I wish the 41st “Shanghai Spring” International Music Festival a complete success!
Thank you all.

Mirco Patarini, President of the Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes
