20 Years Shanghai Accordion History
The second day of the Shanghai Spring Accordion Culture & Arts Week began with a visit to No. 2 Middle School Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where an engaging concert programme showcased the school’s vibrant musical culture. Featuring performances by visiting international artists, Tatiana Lizunova (Russia) and Marco Gemelli (Italy), alongside the school’s own students, the event highlighted both artistic collaboration and the strength of music education within the institution, setting a dynamic and inspiring tone for the day’s activities.
The event was widely promoted throughout the school with strong visual displays. High-quality graphics featured across signage, banners, and stage design created an engaging and professional atmosphere for students, performers, and the audience.

The school orchestra delivered a confident and polished performance, earning warm and enthusiastic applause from the audience. Their high standard reflected the strong musical training embedded within the school’s programme.
Equally impressive was the event and stage management, which is clearly part of the students’ education. Transitions on and off stage were executed with efficiency and precision, demonstrating a well-organised and professionally run performance environment.

The outreach activities of the Shanghai Accordion Association play a vital role in connecting professional artists with young musicians across the city’s schools. Under the leadership of Li Cong, Vice President of the Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes and Crystal Wang, these initiatives aim to foster early engagement with the accordion, promote high standards of music education, and inspire the next generation of performers. Through concerts, workshops, and school collaborations, the Association continues to build a strong foundation for accordion culture within Shanghai’s educational landscape.

Following the concert, the group returned to their hotel for a Welcome Dinner hosted by officials from the Shanghai Changning District Tourism office.
